Solar Energy Initiatives, Inc., which trades over the counter under the ticker SNRY, said on October 5, 2026 that its board had installed Derrick Whitehead as president and chief executive, with the change taking effect October 1, 2026. Bryan A. Wilkinson, who previously held the top job, moved into the chief operating officer role and is helping with the handover.
In the same announcement, the company said it had walked away from a letter of intent to merge with a solar technology business based in Colorado, concluding the combination would not serve shareholders. Management objected in particular to the other side's intention to carry out a reverse stock split.
Whitehead said the company would not pursue any transaction requiring such a split, calling that stance "non-negotiable." He said Solar Energy Initiatives can act as a holding company for operating partners and acquisitions, and that his contacts among operators and capital providers should help bring in financing that does not dilute current holders.
Wilkinson said the plan is for the company to function as an incubator pursuing several acquisitions and partnerships to add assets to its balance sheet. The company said further updates would cover corporate records, state filings and address changes.
