Michael Hurlston, chief executive of Lumentum, said in an interview that aired October 9, 2026, on Bloomberg's "The Asia Trade" that the optoelectronic products his company produces for artificial intelligence infrastructure projects are effectively "sold out" through nearly 2029. Hurlston attributed the demand to technology companies building out AI infrastructure.
Speaking exclusively with Bloomberg's Shery Ahn, Hurlston also discussed Lumentum's broader business outlook and the global demand for artificial intelligence. Lumentum produces optoelectronic components used in AI infrastructure projects, and Hurlston said that surging demand from technology companies has left the company's capacity booked through nearly 2029.
