Michael Dell, chief executive and chairman of Dell Technologies, has responded publicly to online criticism of his wife, Susan Dell, following the couple's appearance at the White House on October 7, AOL.com reported.
The Dells joined President Donald Trump in the Oval Office to mark a contribution of $6.25 billion intended to "help 25 million children start building a strong financial foundation," according to the report. Clips of the appearance circulated on social media, where commenters focused on Susan Dell's appearance rather than the donation.
Michael Dell reposted messages on his X account from people defending his wife, including one from a user who said a grandson had received $250 from the program. He also shared letters, cards and drawings sent by children who received money.
Susan Dell, 62, said the couple had heard from parents, children and grandparents since the funds began reaching accounts, and that children had written about wanting to become entrepreneurs, nurses, doctors and engineers. "It's not just the money that matters," she said, adding that knowing someone believes in a child's future matters as much.
