Nvidia said on October 19 that it will take stakes in four German artificial intelligence companies, part of a commitment of close to $10 billion to businesses, universities and research bodies across Europe, CNBC reported. The plan was disclosed at a government investment conference in Berlin.
The four companies are Agile Robots, which makes AI-driven robots for factories, logistics and healthcare; Avelios Medical, a maker of hospital management software; Mirelo, which builds models that generate audio for video; and Reflex Aerospace, a satellite manufacturer. Nvidia did not say how much money it would commit to each.
The German government also signed a declaration of intent with the chipmaker to develop AI models for industrial use, and Nvidia is widening its work with the country's "Industry 4.0 Platform." Chancellor Friedrich Merz urged smaller German firms to make their internal data available for AI systems, calling it an advantage for the country.
Jensen Huang, Nvidia's chief executive, said AI would add to rather than displace German industrial skills, saying "AI can only augment your capability, it will not replace your capability."
Separately on the same day, Siemens presented AI tools developed with Nvidia at its plant in Erlangen, saying they could cut engineering work for production preparation by as much as 85% and planning costs by up to 20%. Huang announced investments in four French startups earlier in October 2026 and was due to give a keynote speech in Berlin on October 21.
