Wells Fargo & Co. reported third-quarter results that came in above Wall Street estimates, with consumer and business demand holding steady, Bloomberg reported.
Mike Santomassimo, chief financial officer of the bank, said Wells Fargo had seen "good activity" across different parts of its business, speaking in an interview on "Bloomberg The Close." He discussed lending, interest rates and deal activity during the appearance, according to Bloomberg.
The comments point to resilience among borrowers at one of the largest U.S. banks, whose consumer and commercial franchises give it a broad read on household and corporate demand. Wells Fargo's quarterly reports are watched as an indicator of credit conditions and of appetite for financing among companies pursuing acquisitions.
