Fission, a New York startup that buys tokenized private fund shares from investors who want out, said on October 15 that it had raised a $10 million Series A, according to Fortune.

The financing was led by Pantera Capital and completed in September 2026, with Circle Ventures, Borderless Capital and Ari Rubenstein also taking part. The company would not say what valuation it carries. An earlier pre-seed round of $1.6 million was led by SALT Fund and Kraynos Capital.

Fission was started in 2024 by Jonathan Shaffer, chief executive, Steve Bendit, chief revenue officer, and Chris Humphrey, chief technology officer. Rather than wait for a fund to process a redemption, sellers connect a digital wallet and hand the position to Fission, which takes on the trading and legal steps. A sale that would normally take roughly 200 days can instead settle in "90 seconds or less" for a fee, Shaffer told Fortune.

Asset managers including BlackRock and JPMorgan have expanded tokenized money market offerings in 2026, but secondary trading remains thin. Fission has eight employees and serves mainly hedge funds, crypto treasuries and stablecoin issuers, Shaffer said.
